How can industry in North-West Europe become more energy-efficient and reduce greenhouse gas emissions – without compromising business goals?
Sustainable asset management offers a clear path forward, yet few companies have fully implemented this approach. As a technical manager, engineer, or asset professional, you are in a unique position to lead the transition to a more sustainable industrial future.
What you will learn
This hands-on training provides concrete practices and strategies to improve energy efficiency, reduce emissions, and increase the reliability of your assets through sustainable asset management. You will gain a solid understanding of benchmarks, frameworks, and techniques to create value for your organisation while contributing to climate goals.
This course is part of the More4Sustainability project, an initiative supported by Interreg North-West Europe. The programme is developed by BEMAS, Mainnovation, NVDO, FVI and Pôle EMC2, with the goal of delivering practical tools and training to help asset professionals put sustainability into action.
This course is available as an in-house training for groups of 20 people or more – either within your own company or in collaboration with other organisations. This training is free until 30 June 2025.

Understand the importance of maintenance and asset management in achieving sustainability objectives in an industrial business.
Use the sustainable asset management framework, with its 17 building blocks, as a basis for improvement.
Estimate and analyse CO2 emissions from scope 1 and 2 of industrial production sites.
Optimise the asset portfolio to improve sustainability performance in line with the principles of ISO 55001.
Use maintenance and condition optimisation to reduce emissions and increase energy efficiency.
Formulate a concrete approach to improving energy efficiency by optimising distribution systems and avoiding heat loss.
Formulate a concrete approach to reducing emissions, including gas reuse and renewable energy production.
Carry out a self-assessment to set and prioritise sustainability objectives.
Develop the strategy and tactical approach using the Sustainable Asset Management Roadmap.
Apply proven best practice to increase energy efficiency and reduce emissions in an industrial environment.
With these skills, you can strategically integrate sustainability into asset management processes, reducing emissions and energy consumption while creating value for your organisation. Once you have passed an online test, you will be awarded the Sustainable Asset Management Leader certificate.
